In partnership with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) we’re excited to launch Takeover Melbourne - a new initiative that creates a powerful platform for young Melburnians to be heard. Takeover Melbourne encourages young people in Year 10, or of equivalent age if outside formal education, to submit their stories, including their hopes, challenges, ideas and life experiences.

Thirty-two winners selected from each of Melbourne’s metropolitan councils will work with the ABC to have their stories produced and broadcast locally and nationally on ABC TV, ABC Radio and the ABC website. Winners will also have the opportunity to take part in the Takeover Melbourne Summit – a week of leadership development aimed at empowering young people to design a brighter future for their city. An Australian first, Takeover Melbourne enhances the resilience of young Melburnian’s by placing them at the centre of conversations that shape their communities.
